The Induction Heating System Rice Cooker & Warmer uses high-tech Induction Heating (IH) technology to transform the entire inner cooking pan into a heat conductor, allowing for higher, more precise and more uniform cooking temperatures resulting in the perfect rice quality every time.

Induction heating occurs with the system of coils in the base of the cooker. When the inner cooking pan is in place, it creates a magnetic field. During the cooking cycle, the magnetic field instantly generates the heat inside the inner cooking pan to cook the rice.This pressure helps convert the rigid beta starch into alpha starch, making the rice softer and easier to digest. Rice cooked under pressure also stays softer for a longer period of time.

The GABA Brown Rice setting offers a new method of cooking brown rice that has health bene­fits. The GABA Brown Rice setting “activates” brown rice by soaking it at 104°F for 2 hours before the actual cooking begins. Proper activation can boost the level of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), an amino acid that occurs naturally in brown rice, to 150%. GABA is believed to help lower blood pressure, improve kidney function and relieve stress.

The rice cooker comes equipped with pre-programmed cooking options to cover a range of choices: white (regular, softer or harder), mixed, sushi, porridge, sweet, brown, GABA brown and quick cooking.

NP-HBQ10/18 also has an interchangeable melody and beep signal to indicate the user when the cooking cycle has ended. The automatic keep-warm, reheating and delay timer function also allows the user to keeps rice at an ideal serving temperature until it's ready to be served. For added convenience, the NP-HBQ10 has an easy to read LCD control panel.
